old painting, but new photo of it

wow thanks a lot for the daily deviation!! so many people to thank....

i guess since so many people are looking at this i should reveal the story behind how i came to make this haha and its a pretty simple one. basically my ex wanted me to paint abraham lincoln, but with really bright colors. and she was my girlfriend haha so i gave it my all. luckily i still have the original though.

so there, thats how it came to be.. i know his eyes look a little wierd, and i left them like that cuz i thought they made him look a bit like a zombie

Daily Deviation

Given 2009-02-12

With the remembrance of the 200th birthday of our Sixteenth President, it is an honor to present something that I humbly feel beautifully portrays a man that I have admired since I was a young girl. Abraham Lincoln by ~Chrono1209, is a very colorful and richly detailed piece that I hope will further serve as a reminder of just how complex and fascinating Mr. Lincoln truly was. This is absolutely gorgeous. I would just say that the eyes would look better darker. I think that would make it pop even more.

Booo! You killed State's rights by using slavery as an excuse. Sad excuse for a republican!
Booo!
Great painting though, i love the rich texture.

I've always been fascinated with Abe Lincoln, since we share the same birth date, feb 12th. he's 200, and i'm 22, and I have so much to thanks to give to him, and this country.

This is a great painting, or a great man. The colors are amazingly well compiled, and the image is always a striking one, in any medium.

Wonderful Art Piece!
